Dear Dan & Pet Detect Staff,
I just wanted to share with you something that happened to us this past summer. As you know we were looking for something just like your product when we contacted you in December of 05 and purchased the system in January of 06.
In June of this year while away from my office, I received a call on my cell phone from a woman who lived about a mile from my kennel, she very calmly informed me "I have one of your dogs in my yard". She explained she had read the emergency number on a bright yellow collar the dog was wearing and called me.
I immediately contacted the closest staff member and gave them the address of the woman, all the while wracking my brain how one of our ‘Pet Detect’ collared dogs ended up out of the confines of our property.
Within a few moments, I received another phone call from the dog’s owner, Frank.
He apologized profusely for any stress I had experienced (little did he know) and proceeded to explain that he had picked up "Sam" a earlier that morning from the kennel, brought her home and did not take the Pet Detect collar off of her. Not long after he arrived home, she apparently wandered off while he was cutting the lawn.
Needless to say I cancelled the retrieval person and breathed a sigh of relief.
I just want you to know that your system works! It was a heck of a way to test it, but it sure did beat a ‘real world’ scenario of having a dog escape.
I sleep better knowing each dog is identified individually, it has been a real asset especially with dogs coming and going every day, group play and the different shifts of personnel we have working here.
The Pet Detect ID Collar in addition to the Run Card printed up with the Atlantis program make a great combination. We are organized, secure and I KNOW that in the event a dog does escape...they are identified and can be retrieved.
